FAQs
What causes tooth and jaw malocclusions?
The most common causes of poor teeth or jaw positioning are:
thumb-sucking,
the early loss of baby teeth,
the loss of permanent teeth,
difficulty swallowing,
and difficulty breathing.
Genetic factors can also play a part in poor positioning of the teeth or jaw, for instance, if there is a strong overbite or crossbite, or when teeth are crowded or gapped.
